Okay, before all of you supporters of the DOS, please, for the love of Xenu, just read this whole thing and wait a full 24 hours before responding. Just hear me out. Remember kids: this is all just my opinion.
Ok, I like the idea that the LGBT community is doing something to support themselves, but the Day of Silence makes little sense and I have a personal grudge against it for a few reasons. Here they are:
1. If you want to express something, I truly believe you should speak your mind. AS LOUD AS POSSIBLE. Being silent, IMO, means you're just one of the crowd and you are too much of a wuss to stand up for what's right. Yes, I know that kid was shot in school for being gay, and nobody stood up for him because they were silent. But you being silent doesn't echo anything. Trust me I read that red card 8000 times.
2. SOME people decide to make up their own rules for the Day of Silence. They cheat the system, which frankly proves that they dont care about the day, and just wanna not talk in class and get free cake at the "afterparty" To all of you assholes who WILL do such, fuck you. Go to hell, you uncaring, selfish nubs. There are also those who don't get what "Day of Silence" means. It doesn't mean not talking. It means not communicating with anyone at all, whatever the way. Not mouthing, not writing, not hand gesturing, not facial gesturing. You have to not communicate to ANYONE and just be a body, if you're going to take the day seriously. To those of you that did this: "learn how to play the game before you join the tournament."
3.To a Jew like me (and possibly to other discriminated races), silence is a very serious topic for us. Being silent puts you in the category of those who turned their heads the other way: those who didn't speak up while we were worked and burned by the Nazis. You who do not stand up for yourselves and remain silent are as bad or even worse than the criminals themselves.
I know a bunch of you are just going to spam this post w/ angry responses because you hate me altogether. Fine. That's your opinion, I can't change it. But before you do, think of it yourself. What exactly are you echoing? Given not the Day of Silence, what would you do if someone was being made fun of or harassed. Would you stand up for what's right, or remain silent?
Some of you might not understand what an opinion. Again I'm not bashing anyone or pulling a race card. I am simply donig my duty as an American to speak my mind and post my own personal opinion of the Day of Silence. How can you question my personal beleifs? It makes you no less than a bigot. I am not saying the Day of Silence should be ended under any pretenses. It probably won't end for a while. I am simply explaining the negatives of it and my opinions on them. You might know me as w/e you think I am, so you picture me typing furiously on the keyboard, pounding my fists in anger, then going and stealing stuff from old ladies because I am such a terrible person. Poisoned minds do not get far anywhere.
Props to all those who will participate and NOT cheat.
~Dave.

I really wish I had more watchers. If I really did want to start appeasing to the masses though, it'd be pretty easy. All I'd have to do is start doing colored anime deviations. Problem is, while fun, fanart is hard to qualify as art sometimes and I really haven't been making an effort to develop an anime style.
